In these photos, I have aligned the faces through the horizontal center of the eyes in order to compare the facial features properly.

Overall alignment of facial features match fairly well (some misalignment may be due to vertical positioning in the photo). The eyes and eye brows match across all photos, however, there is a notable difference in the distance from the nose to the upper lip AND a substantial difference in the positioning of the ears. The new Saddam appears to have a larger area beneath his nose (incisivus superior), and a mustache that appears to be shaped differently. I also detect a slight difference in the shape and position of the nose, where the new Saddam's nose is slightly turned up, relative the old Saddam (but perhaps he had some work done prior to the war so he would look "fresher" on television giving his war speeches!?) With regard to the ears, the difference in positioning (not size however) is significant. Even accounting for camera position, one can easily see that the old Saddam's ears begin midline to upper-midline with the brows and end just beneath the nose. The new Saddam's ears begin even with the bottom of the eyes and end about even with the upper lip. A significant difference indeed!
Now I'm not an expert in facial profiling, and the issue with the ears is intriguing. However, I do have something else worth pointing out on the next page, and if you look closely at the photos above, you may notice another substantial difference between the old and new Saddam...a difference that is not easily addressed with reconstructive surgery, but can be easily remedied with... <click here for page 4>
